The location is good and the price is low, but there's a reason for that. The shared bathroom was clean, yet I couldn't get in when I needed to, so I had to go without a shower. The bedrooms they rent out really need attention, and fresh clean linen isn't something to count on. A small TV and tea and coffee making facilities in the room would be welcome. Asking people to share family food during Covid times was a bad idea. I honestly couldn't wait to leave.

It felt a lot like staying at home. We had plenty of privacy, and the hosts were thoughtful and amazing. They were nearby if we wanted a chat, but never intruded. We'd happily stay again and highly recommend it.

I booked to stay overnight in Geelong, and normally use Booking.com filters to rule out hostels and backpacker accommodation. Somehow that didn't work here. I only got a message today saying check-in starts at 6 pm, which is ridiculous, and that the bathroom and toilet are shared with all the guests. That's not for me, especially during COVID. I cancelled, and as expected, got no refund. Lesson learned, I'll check every detail more carefully next time.

They were nice enough people, but after coming down for physical work I just wanted a quiet, private place. There was no TV in the room. They kindly invited me to watch their family TV, but I was there for work and wanted to relax with my own TV in my own space. I didn't want to impose on their family. The room felt like nanna's room, with lots of religious references that I didn't appreciate or think belonged in a BnB bedroom. I had to get up at 6am, but woke at 3.30am to the upstairs shower, then an hour or so of whispered conversation. After that, breakfast being made and cups and bowls put on the laminate bench wasn't quiet, and my sleep was over. There was no key, just an implied 10pm curfew. Nice people, but hospitality takes more consideration than a pleasant manner. I paid in advance for two nights and stayed one. Enough said.

My sister and I had a lovely weekend. The bed was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and there was hot water. Breakfast had plenty to eat and a good range. They left the lounge free for us, so we could have our own space, watch TV, and enjoy a nice glass of wine. Thanks so much, we'll definitely come back.
