Belair Gardens Caravan Park

We're staying in our campervan at Belair caravan Park and have found it lovely. There's plenty of room, shade from the Sheoak trees, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the place has nearly everything. My only reason for giving it four stars is that there are no wheelchair-accessible toilets or showers. The newer toilet and shower block still isn't accessible. It'd be good if management could make one toilet and shower cubicle a little bigger to fit a chair. Maybe they'll address it in future.

We really liked staying here, which makes the security problems especially disappointing. Our car window was smashed for a bag of nappies, which was later dumped further down. From what I saw in other reviews, break-ins have been happening for months. Staff seemed to think one man was responsible, but said he knew how to avoid the cameras and hadn't been caught. The staff did check on us regularly and asked if they could help, but we won't return because of the safety concerns. It's a lovely park in a great spot, with good amenities.

We were close to the beach and the magnificent lighthouse, and saw a magnificent sea Eagle's nest with young while out walking. Geraldton central and the beautiful waterfront precinct are only a short drive away. Check-in was easy, and the receptionists were very helpful and focused on guests, which feels rare these days. We got the site near the amenities and laundry as requested. The amenities block is old, but kept very clean, and our companions had a really lovely cabin. We couldn't have wanted much more. We were two women travelling together and felt very uneasy about staying here after neighbours told us their car had been smashed into the night before. We then found reviews on other sites describing this as a very common problem. What disappointed us most was that staff hadn't taken any steps to let us know about the crime. Even a text advising us to move valuables off the camper's front seats would've helped. It seems theft at this park has been an ongoing issue for years, and we were let down by the lack of transparency and accountability.
