There was just one face cloth for two of us, and no complimentary biscuits. The only complimentary toiletries were in a wall-mounted bottle with shower wash, shampoo and conditioner all combined. The room had one chair but no table to sit at. The bed was noisy and so uncomfortable that getting out without waking my partner was impossible. We couldn't tune the TV to local stations until the morning we were leaving, and there were no instructions for using it. Pressing the Welcome message on screen just welcomed us.

The breakfast was awful for what we paid. The scrambled eggs were cold and rock hard, and the bacon was cooked in big clumps in the oven and left to go cold. I had to peel the pieces apart, and they were only cooked on the outside. The little sausages were either overdone or dried out and really hard. There were no serviettes, so after asking, I was given takeaway paper towel packs. The rooms are very outdated, with too few power points near the bed. My pillow in room 24 felt stuffed with something out of a dumpster. Reception was under pressure when I tried to ask questions and book, so I ended up doing it online. I waited five minutes at the bar to go for breakfast while reception was having a long chat with someone. When I checked out, nobody was at reception or the bar, so I called out and left the room key on the computer keyboard. For the price, this was over the top. It seems mining demand is driving the rates.

I stayed two nights with my daughter. The hotel was good value, with clean rooms and easy check-in and check-out. Breakfast had plenty of options and was kept stocked. The concierge was always friendly and polite. There were also lots of transient workers staying there, many leaving early in the morning. I'd stay again.

The staff were always nice and helpful, and the service was good. The rooms weren't as pleasant: there was a lot of outside noise, and doors started slamming from 5am. The worst part was opening the door to find a dead cockroach that could easily have been removed. The second night, I killed another roach in the toilet. Please get pest control.
