Blue C Coolangatta

The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and the location was superb. The interior, though, was quite dated and dirty. There were old stains on the carpets and stained bathroom tiles. The bed was very soft, while the couch was extremely hard.

Everything was within walking distance, from restaurants and shops to the beach. I loved the stay at blue C Coolangatta. The apartment view was amazing, the pool was nice, and everything was clean.

The part I still can't get over is being woken by a man inside our room. He said he was management and stood at the foot of the bed, demanding that we pay. I was terrified. This happened in January 2020, and it's taken me until now to write about it. Disgusting. We'd arranged in advance to arrive after hours and call the number in the information once we got there. We arrived about 30 minutes after closing, but repeated calls to that number and the one on the main door went unanswered. Email didn't help either. Eventually someone called back and said we had to pay the remaining balance for our two-night stay upfront. They let us in on the condition we'd pay at reception when it opened. The next morning I was unwell and went back to sleep while my husband went downstairs. He waited for reception at a cafe and then got caught up in a business call for over half an hour. While I was asleep, the man let himself in and came into the bedroom to demand payment. Is that supposed to be normal?

We spent our days watching whales from the balcony, and the kids were happy in the pool. The room had plenty of space and everything we needed, though the old carpet, decor and bathrooms made it feel dated. Still, we'd happily come back. The location in Coolangatta is hard to beat, with the beach, shops and restaurants just steps away.
