A handy, good-value stop on the GC, close to the beach. There can be a bit of road noise early in the morning. Our room and the facilities were spotless and nicely presented, and the water pressure was great. We didn't try the pool, but it looked sparkling clean. Check-in was easy, the receptionist was lovely and welcoming, and free parking was a bonus.

The rooms and the pool area were exceptionally clean. Nice little touches too, with mints, chilled water and a coffee machine with pods. The location made getting around easy: the beach, local shops and suburban transport were all within walking distance, and most attractions were ideally placed for us.

The Blue Heron was a great base, just an easy stroll to the beach and some lovely cafes. We found the rooms cute and comfortable, and really enjoyed the pool area. We'd absolutely stay here again, and recommend it.

The staff were so friendly and made our holiday feel extra special. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and the location was great. We loved staying here and would come back.

I'd stayed here before and really enjoyed it, which is why I booked again. This time, roadworks right outside the motel kept going through the night until at least 3am. The grinding, scraping and reversing sounds were incredibly loud. Earplugs didn't help, and I couldn't sleep for hours. If you want a decent night's rest, I'd avoid the motel until the roadworks are completely finished. I tried calling the GC council to complain, but it automatically sent me to the contractor, who wasn't taking calls then. Very disappointing.
