BreakFree Beachpoint

We stayed for 22 days, and I really didn’t want to leave. The rooms were fantastic, the pool was exceptional, and every staff member helped make the trip a wonderful experience. I can’t fault our stay, apart from wishing we’d switched here sooner. For 20 years we’d been coming to the Gold Coast and staying at the Beachcombers. Now my son and his family stayed in 11C while we were in 11A, and we’ll be back here next year and every other year. Thanks to everyone. See you very soon. ❤️ Sue & John 11A

The pools and amenities were great, and the location made it easy to get around. The beach is across the road, the tram is just down the road, and Cavill avenue is close by. We were upgraded from a one-bedroom to a spacious two-bedroom unit. It had an extra toilet and shower alongside the main bathroom, air conditioning in the lounge and both bedrooms, and ceiling fans throughout. There was a TV in the lounge but none in the bedrooms. It could use a bit more cleaning and dusting. For some reason, all Gold Coast hotels seem to need cleaning. It wasn’t too bad, though, and I’d rate it 7.5/10 for cleanliness, better than other hotels. One of the two lifts was out for three days. The corridors had a strong lemon cleaning smell, not overly unpleasant. Good value and I’d return, especially for the beach, restaurants and Cavill avenue nearby.

The location was excellent, right opposite the beach and close to shops and places to eat. The kitchen was especially well equipped, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Getting in late was a real hassle. The intercom kept cutting out, and we spent about an hour outside trying to get the entry information. The cleaning was also quite poor. The living room rug hadn’t been vacuumed and had lots of hair and dirt on it. My baby crawled on it and ended up with dust and hair on them, which made me uncomfortable. The stay would have been much better with cleaner rooms and a working late check-in system.

A decent place for a family break or a trip with mates, especially if you want to be near the beach. We were on the 11th floor and had awesome beach views. The rooms are a good size and the unit was clean, but it felt tired, with an 80s or 90s look and a very worn bathroom. We used the outdoor pool and sauna. There’s a surf lifesaving unit across the road, so you can be in the sea less than five minutes after crossing over.
