I was very happy to pay extra to leave room 40 for the penthouse apartment on level 16, room 72. The quality difference was unbelievable, like being in a different place. It was clean, presentable, nicely renovated, had upgraded features and great views. Room 40 on level 5 was dark, run down and outdated, and stank of mould and cat urine. When I asked whether there had been a cat in there, she said no, but my skin gets itchy near cats, so go figure. We couldn’t get out of that room quickly enough.

Our room was fantastic, tidy and modern, with lovely views, even though the outside of the building looks old. There are coffee shops and a steak house across the street. It’s a five minute drive to Hope Island, retail areas and the local bowlo, with Ubers around $15.

Joanne was accommodating and gave excellent service. We had a few questions before the stay, and she replied quickly and helped us out. Check in and check out were both simple. The views are phenomenal, the rooms spacious, and there’s a playground about 600 metres away. My daughter’s Teddy was left behind, and they kept him until we could come pick him up. We’ll be back.

Joanne was welcoming and very accommodating, and we were even able to check in early. We celebrated a very special milestone over three nights in a Level 12 room, with views of Stradbroke Island and the Broadwater surroundings. Runaway Bay Shopping Centre is nearby, and Harbourtown is a 10 minute drive away. We’re looking forward to coming back.
