Burleigh Surf Apartments

We’re regulars and the apartment and views are really great. Everything was beautifully presented, and the facilities were all good. The walk across the road to Burleigh North Beach can’t be beaten. It’s sad to see the area developing so quickly, with buildings going up all around. The new high rise next door may take away the north-facing view towards Surfers from the apartment we had.

The apartment needed a proper deep clean, and the way staff dealt with our concerns was really disappointing. When we raised the mess, cleaners were sent, but they stayed about 10 minutes. I asked several times for the dust to be vacuumed properly and that still wasn’t done. Staff later dismissed the issue and said we hadn’t complained early enough. For what we paid, the place was extremely dirty and dusty. We found old opened lolly packets, food crumbs including M&M’s under the couch, old bandaids and used floss in drawers, and chewing gum stuck to the shower head. The couch was falling apart. There was thick dust on the fans, bed heads, under the couch and inside cabinets, plus cockroaches on the balcony.

Gorgeous view, with easy access to the beach. The place was functional and I was very happy with it, though a few drawers were broken but still usable.

I wish I’d read the reviews before staying. The reception staff were lovely, but management were appalling. The manager was extremely unpleasant and unhelpful. After I was injured in the room, my concerns were dismissed, and I was told the manager had been “advised by their legal team” not to speak with me. She wouldn’t discuss it further and emailed to say my complaint had gone to head office. When I contacted head office, they said it didn’t exist. The room felt unsafe and failed basic safety standards. There were NO safety decals on the glass panel, making it hard to see. I walked into it and broke my front tooth, which was extremely painful and expensive to fix. The blankets were dirty, the cupboards filthy, and the kitchen ill equipped. For the price, I expected much better cleanliness, professionalism and safety. It’s tired and dated, and the manager is miserable. I’d strongly advise avoiding it, it’s not worth the risk or disappointment. If they reply saying this was resolved, it DEFINITELY wasn’t, and they were extremely unprofessional.
