Enderley Gardens Resort

The beds were the only part of our stay I had no complaints about. The tram outside the bedroom window shook the room every time it passed, so I couldn’t sleep. There was mould in the bathroom, and the ensuite toilet hadn’t been brushed even though an unused toilet brush was sitting beside it. The cutlery drawer was held together with sticky tape and nearly came off when I touched the handle. The cutlery was wet and dirty, and the mugs in the pantry cupboard were upside down, still wet, with tea or coffee left in them. I had to wash everything before we could use it. Staff had already “left the building” when we arrived, and there was no contact number except 000 for emergencies. We were given instructions for leaving the room on a note under the door, with no face-to-face contact. The office staff spoke another language, which I found rude. After that weekend stay three weeks ago, I wouldn’t recommend the place. A negative experience all around.

The room was in poor shape and clearly hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. The air conditioner leaked enough to soak the floor, the back door wouldn’t shut, the TV had no sound and the shower door was broken. Cockroaches, including baby ones, were all over the room, in the bed and coming out of the kettle. There was leftover food and drinks in the fridge, an unknown liquid in a spray bottle, and the towel rail was missing until we found it shoved in a cupboard. We were uncomfortable passing nearby residents who left their door open while naked. We were also told we had to take out our own rubbish or pay a charge, although staff eventually did it themselves because of how serious the problems were. The property first offered a one-night refund. When I asked them to put that in writing because of a language barrier, they said their manager would no longer let them email me and told me to contact Booking.com. They still haven’t responded to Booking.com, even after a reminder. The stay was unacceptable, and their lack of accountability afterwards made it worse.

The tram was a bit noisy, but the location was great. I was pleasantly surprised by the one-bedroom apartment, with its kitchen, lounge room, and bathroom/laundry. I’d stay again next time I’m on the Gold Coast.

The location was close to everything, and outside, the pool and BBQ area were clearly the best kept parts of the resort. But my room was dirty and mouldy and badly in need of attention. I stayed for a week and never got fresh towels or toilet paper. I wouldn’t recommend it for a young family, and I won’t be back.
