Being just away from the busy center meant less noise from the evening crowds, though road noise can depend on where your apartment is. It’s also easy to get around, with the beach across the road and Surfers Paradise restaurants and shops about a 5-10 minute walk away. From an upper-floor balcony, I had a lovely ocean view, while trees may partly block the outlook on lower floors. The apartment had everything I needed to cook for myself, including a stove, oven, and utensils. I could leave my luggage at 9 a.m. and come back at 11:30 a.m. for an early check-in, instead of 2 p.m. The building is a bit old and could use some updates. Wi-Fi isn’t free, though I could pick up the public city network from the balcony, and they freeze an AUD 300 security deposit for the stay.

The view was spectacular, and the clean apartment was comfortable overall. The bathroom was tiny, though, and its exhaust fan ran all the time. There was a small amount of tea and coffee but no milk or other condiments, so bring what you need. The little coffee machine had no capsules either. The location’s hard to beat, right opposite the beach and a short walk from Surfers Paradise.

The pool was a lovely extra for unwinding after a day out, and the staff were warm, helpful, and made us feel welcome. We had everything we needed in the clean, spacious apartment. The location was really handy too, close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. We had an amazing stay at Olympus Holiday Apartments and will be back. Highly recommend Olympus for a relaxing getaway.
