Palmerston Tower on Southport Broadwater

Ganny made arranging rooms for us and some of our wedding guests so easy. We’re very grateful for the care she put into making our stay special. Our ceremony was at the chapel across the road, and having such lovely rooms at Palmerston Towers made everything feel easy and helped make our time there amazing. Our renovated suites were spacious, with a great view of the water and the Chapel. We had a fantastic stay and will come back to Palmerston Towers for our anniversaries. Thank you!

We had plenty to do nearby, with parks, places to walk and explore, and lots of good food options within walking distance. It felt very family-friendly and was great for the kids. The location was fantastic, but the accommodation caused a lot of stress. We booked for five and arrived to find just four beds and four towels. My husband had to sleep on the floor the first night, then we had to pay to hire an extra bed for our son the next night. That shouldn’t have been necessary with our booking, and the setup didn’t match its description. I hope this is addressed for future guests.

The views kept us entertained, with people and activity on the water all the time. We also loved having five op-shops just a short walk away. Apartment 13a had recently been updated and was clean, comfortable and well equipped, with a good kitchen, big fridge, heaps of storage and beautiful bathrooms. The master bed was firmer than we like, but we still slept pretty well. There’s no air con in the main living area, though the ceiling fan and open balcony door kept a nice breeze coming through. We stayed five nights and would definitely come back, hopefully for longer.

The Broadwater view is spectacular, a full 180 degrees, and we loved watching SeaWorld helicopters, jet boats and fancy yachts go by. We’d stay again just for that. Our unit was 8B, in a building from the early 1980s, and the age showed in parts. The kitchen and bathrooms looked brand new, though the bathrooms had almost no shelving beyond a small wire hanger over a tap. The shower nozzle drops when you turn off the water, so watch out. The Queen bed was very comfortable, and the TV was good once we figured it out. The dining-area air con faced the bedroom at the far end and cooled the whole unit. The bedroom fan sounded like a plane above setting 2, and I didn’t risk turning on the very old lounge fan. The curtains looked like they might fall apart if washed, and the lounge needed a clean. The garden and pool were very well kept, and the two staff members I spoke with were lovely.
