Rays Resort

The location is fantastic, and the views from the higher floors are pretty nice. It’s decent overall, but the elevators are outdated and occasionally break down. The owners also refuse to renew leases.

My wife and I have just finished an 18 month rental lease at Rays Resort, so we’ve had more time there than people on a short stay. Before moving in, I’d read lots of reviews. I feel for those who had a poor experience, but ours was very different. Trixie is the driving force behind much of the place. My wife loves her, and so do I. She’s professional, focused and like a walking supercomputer. That can come across as stern, but when it comes to accounts and payments, a disagreement over the numbers is more likely to mean you’ve got them wrong, which is a good thing. Bonnie is a sweetheart, and nothing negative can be said about her. Tom, the man you may see around, seems lucky enough not to have bad days, though the staff have their days like anyone. When we arrived, everything was in excellent condition. We didn’t find the place tired, and the pool and gardens were as good as any five star hotel worldwide, and we’ve travelled widely. If you decide to stay at Rays Resort, start with a positive outlook and you’ll have a much better time. This is an unsolicited review I’m happy to write for Google. Wikita's World View

I left an important, expensive gift on the apartment couch by mistake when checking out. I realized fairly soon and called to arrange collection the next day, since the office was closed on Sunday. When I got it back, it had been opened and used. Management blamed me, minimized what happened and treated me very poorly when I asked about it. I know leaving it was my mistake, but I expected hotel staff to respect a traveller’s belongings. A really saddening experience.

We were charged for a room we didn’t use. The service was poor, the room didn’t have the facilities I’d requested, and staff weren’t available to move us. The emergency number went unanswered too. Who knows what would have happened if there’d been a problem. Not recommended.
