Swell Apartments - by Burleigh Letting

The outage on our departure day left us without water or electricity, and when our friend asked the receptionist for help getting to her car because the lifts and garage weren't working, she scoffed and said, “you’re kidding”. We'd also had trouble finding our room: it was in another building and needed access via two different lift levels, details she only gave after I called twice. The parking directions were no better. Our other guest needed to park in the garage, but wasn't told she needed a separate remote on another set of keys. The receptionist showed no care and had very poor people skills. Residents who live there were very willing to help and confirmed what we thought about reception, saying they often help people who look lost. It's such a lovely place, but that staff response will drive guests away. I won't stay there again because of it.

We'd stayed here twice before and had great stays, but right now tram night works and construction across the road have only just begun, with months still to go. The noise is constant. Stay away at all costs. I'd cancel if I could.

The room was far below the standard described on Swell Resorts' website. The shower was broken, and with roadworks and construction right outside going all day and night, it was impossible to relax. Resort staff didn't acknowledge the noise. Reception was rude, service was terrible, and I felt disrespected and lied to. Such a disappointment. I strongly wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

It took us about 10 minutes to find our car park in the basement, which is like a storage centre and a maze, then around 15 minutes to find the room. The people who live there were absolutely rude and kept telling our kids off for swimming. Horrible stay. I'd never return or recommend it.
