White Lanterns Motel

The guy who runs the place was very nice and pleasant, so I’m being generous with one star. The rooms had cockroaches, silverfish and ants. One night we came back to find cockroaches crawling over the bed, benches and floor. If you stay, bring a can of mortein for the bugs. On our first night, my partner had to get me out of the bathroom. I’d shut the door and a screw came loose, leaving me unable to get out. It wasn’t a pleasant stay, and I won’t do it again.

The bathroom door had what looked like feces smeared on its back, and the linen was stained or dirty with hair on it. The room also smelled like a public men's urinal as soon as we walked in. We decided to book somewhere else and take the loss rather than stay and risk getting sick. This was filthy accommodation, and I wouldn't recommend booking without seeing it first.

A bit of a vintage place, so it suits people who don't mind an older house. The carpet had a smell, though that's common enough. The room itself was tidy and clean, the staff were friendly, and it's close to everything. There's parking too, and the price was good for a short stay.

The place felt worn out and dirty, and I didn't even shower because the bathroom was so grimy. The pool couldn't be used, there were no outside lights, and a huge boat was taking up space in the car park. It seemed like the owners had lost interest. I heard it was being used for homeless accommodation. They should sell it to a developer to demolish and rebuild.
