Ramada Resort by Wyndham Golden Beach

We spent one night here with my two daughters and were really happy with both the room and the resort. It was spacious and had everything we needed. The kids had fun with the spa bath under the shower. Sleep was great. I’m fussy about hotel noise because I can’t stand hearing people through the walls or floors. The room was quiet, and the ducted air conditioning made a steady white noise. I heard a couple of things drop above us, but no heavy footsteps, and I couldn’t hear the neighbours. Pool noise carried, but stopped at a decent time. The resort facilities were amazing, though it was a shame the games room wasn’t operating. There’s a Thai restaurant right there, and Golden Beach shops are only a short walk away, with everything from food to massages. I was so impressed. My nine-year-old loved the pool; the beach was my two-year-old’s favourite, although the water isn’t as nice as in some other parts of Caloundra. I do love how close the beach and walking paths are. The staff were all helpful and accommodating. My only criticism is how tight the undercover car parks are. I have an SUV and managed to manoeuvre into a spot, thankfully. With a larger car, I’d suggest parking on the street for an easier time.

We had a really enjoyable stay with the kids. The pool area was beautiful, with a spa and slide that they went on again and again. Our room had a full bathroom, lounge, kitchen and dining table. It was a little outdated, but worked well for us. The water is right nearby, with local cafes around and a Thai restaurant practically on site. An awesome spot for families.

This is a quiet part of the Caloundra area. Our apartment was clean, fairly spacious and well equipped, including a spa. There is secure overflow parking, which is handy, but it’s off-site. The undercover parking is very cramped and there definitely aren’t enough spaces for every unit.

The balcony and view were the best parts of our stay. The room photos are outdated, and the room itself felt damp all the time, smelled bad, and had floors that felt almost sticky or slimy. The place was somewhat dated, and the bed badly needs replacing. Two single beds at different heights had been pushed together to make a double, but there was still a small gap between them. The old, stiff mattresses were stained. After one night, we woke up in agony, feeling decades older. We’d have been better off on the floor. Some staff were rude and unhelpful. They found one mattress topper, but it only covered half the bed and barely helped. We asked for another, but none were available. Management wasn’t much help either. Free coffee and wine won’t make up for leaving here feeling like we need a full-body cast and several massage and chiropractor appointments after just two nights. I absolutely don’t recommend it.
