The deck and sun loungers felt like an extra room, and we spent heaps of time out there. We barely needed our hire car since the complimentary bikes were great for the 30+ km bike trail. The beds were so comfortable, and the kitchen and living area looked straight out of a magazine. My Mum and I stayed two nights at Captain Johns Riverhouse and wished we'd booked longer. The owners have thought of everything, so we wanted for nothing and hated leaving. It was a blissful place to come back to after driving in every direction to explore. A great base for couples or families. We'll return with the whole crew, since the property sleeps 8.

The host's communication was faultless, and she was so friendly. There's heaps of room, with separate living areas upstairs and downstairs if the kids need their own space. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the upstairs living area mean you get picturesque views wherever you're standing. Captain John's River House has everything you need and more, and really felt like a home away from home. I was gobsmacked when we arrived. It's spacious, beautifully decorated, super clean, and has spectacular views. We regretted not booking a longer stay, but we'll definitely be back and have already recommended it to others.

We could bring our boat and use the home's own waterfront jetty, which was such a bonus. The place was immaculate, with stunning views and everything needed to feel at home. What a gem of a holiday house!
