Black Swan Waterfront Motel

We’d only planned to stay the night, but the owner greeted us so warmly and gave us a room looking out over the lake. It was cosy and smelled wonderful when we walked in. At sunrise, we could watch the light come up over the mangroves right in front of us. It’s a lovely, relaxing way to feel close to nature, and I’d happily recommend staying longer. Coffee, sunshine, and cookies with kind words were a small joy we wouldn’t want to miss.

The rooms have had a freshen-up, though the building itself has been around for a while. Parking could get cramped in the holiday season. It’s a short walk to Swansea RSL, and the waterfront location is great. Management were friendly and helpful. We’ll certainly come back, it’s a good stop between Melbourne and Brisbane.

I’ll be coming back here whenever I’m in the area. It’s pet-friendly, which can be hard to find, and the rooms have a really cool character. They were clean, better than places I’ve paid more for, and the location made getting to amenities easy. Service and communication were both friendly and helpful. Thanks for an awesome stay.

The location made getting around easy: shops are just across the road, and Swansea bridge and beach are a walk to the end of the street. There’s even a friendly kitty in reception. The owners were welcoming, and the motel keeps its retro character while still having modern comforts. My room was spotless, freshly painted, and thoughtfully updated without losing original details like the lovely pink porcelain basin and soap dish. It was really comfortable and had a kettle, toaster, microwave, plates, and cutlery. I especially loved the coffee machine, the generous supply of pods, and six tasty biccies in the tea chest. I was travelling alone over the long weekend, and this was the best motel I’ve stayed in. Thank you for such an incredible stay!
