The schnitzel was delicious on our earlier visits, and the steak has been good too. We usually eat at their sister venue The lakes, where the food is consistently great and the kids' meals come with free ice cream. But after three Sunday dinners in a row here, we're thinking of finding somewhere else. The kids got a complimentary scoop the first week, then we were charged $5 for it on each of the next two visits. My prawn linguine was watery and bland for $37, and my partner's burger had the tough end of a lettuce sprig on it.

Maddie made the evening especially enjoyable. She was warm and welcoming, knew the menu well, and paid attention without hovering. We both loved our meals: my partner's linguine and my rump steak were full of flavour and cooked just right. The atmosphere was relaxed and warm, and the service was faultless. We'd happily come back and recommend it.

We go to Gosford Hotel for dinner every Wednesday, and the food is consistently very good. The menu also works well for all our dietary needs. There's a good choice of places to sit, and the atmosphere is great. Wednesday night's 'Pick a Box' brings plenty of entertainment and laughs. Service is wonderful too. Jenna and Keegan have been there a long time, and we especially recommend them for their customer service.

For a 2 star hotel, this was great. Our family room had a private bathroom, one of the better ones I've stayed in, and the bar had a great atmosphere. The staff were fantastic. Murray couldn't do enough for us, and the young man working the bar at 3pm, cap backwards and looking like he needed a feed, was lovely too. The young Asian woman who checked us in was also really nice. We'd come back.

The food was nicely presented and tasty, and the cocktail we had last night was really good. I was surprised they stop serving cocktails at 8:30pm, though. It's a nice venue with plenty of potential, a great seating area, a DJ and a beer garden. I'd definitely return, and hope the crowd improves as the new development around Gosford happens.
