Gordon Hotel

The Tuesday schnitzel special was a hit, a big serving of really tender chicken, and the beer was well priced during happy hour. We called in for dinner and a coldie, and both were very good. All the ladies serving at the bar were friendly. Definitely recommend checking this hotel out.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and made dinner a really enjoyable experience. My steak was juicy and tender, with lots of flavour and a lovely chargrilled finish. Golden, crisp chips, fresh salad, and a rich tasty sauce rounded out the plate. I had a fantastic meal at The Gordon tonight. Highly recommend it for the food and genuinely warm hospitality!

Our meals were OK and arrived in a reasonable time, and the bar staff were friendly. But while my family and I waited, we witnessed a very uncomfortable scene right in front of us. The chef used aggressive language and swore at a bar staff member about whose job it was to deliver the food, and the staff member swore back. It wasn’t discreet, and it made us feel awkward as customers. It’s disappointing because the front-of-house staff were doing their best, but that incident had a big impact on our experience.

A friendly local pub with fantastic staff, welcoming locals, pretty good food, and cold beer. The rooms upstairs were spacious and the bed was comfortable. The shared bathroom was clean. I’d stay and eat there again.
