Spicers Hidden Vale Mount Mort Road

The Parkrun at Hidden Vale was a real highlight for me. It’s a beautiful course and was brilliantly organised, one of the best Parkruns around. The meals were just as memorable, with attentive, knowledgeable staff who made dining feel special without hovering. From the moment I arrived, reception was warm and helpful, which made the whole stay feel relaxed and well run. Spicers Hidden Vale was a standout getaway, and I’d happily come back and recommend it.

It’s a bit out of the way, but don’t miss Hidden Vale if you get the chance. I’ve eaten at three Spicers restaurants, and this one really stands out. The lounge, bar and dining room are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the wine list is both interesting and extensive. The service was outstanding.

A medical emergency disrupted our stay this year, and we were so grateful for the care and compassion the Spicers team showed us. The chef also kindly prepared a special entree and main for me, so I didn’t have the same meals for all three nights. I appreciated that, especially given comments in some other reviews about limited vegetarian and vegan variety. We visit each year for my father-in-law’s birthday and always stay in the two-bedroom Hereford cottage. It feels like coming home now, and we’ll keep returning.

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Spicers Hidden Vale with the Christmas package, about an hour outside Brisbane. The friendly staff did so much for us, and the food was impeccable. Our accommodation was beautiful too. It was an incredible stay from beginning to end, and we can’t thank the team enough.
