Mike, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful. The small cottage was lovely, with a bedroom, spa bath and shower, a nice little outdoor area, and all the facilities we could want. It's very close to the village centre. Midwinter can get chilly, but the heaters and bottled gas fire kept it cosy.

At Oats, Hahndorf, birds call from the garden and you can hear music drifting from the radio. It's only one street back from the main road, yet as quiet as a country lane. The guest books make it clear this has become a favourite holiday spot for people. Every fixture and facility is more than enough. Why pick a hotel full of staff hurrying around who don't seem interested in what you need to tell them? Or a box of a motel room, 4mX4m, with a 2.5mX2.5m bathroom, where Reception doesn't seem interested either?

Kept in great shape, and close to the main street while still quiet and peaceful.

Small, cosy and intimate, just near the main street with plenty of places to eat.
