After a long drive, I was counting on the attached bar and restaurant for a meal and a beer. I’d picked the motel because the one-night price looked fair when I searched online. But when I arrived, I was told Russian Jacks was apparently closed on weekends. Nobody mentioned that when I called to book. The receptionist suggested getting dinner at the service station, which didn’t sound appealing. The rooms are old former mining dongas, tiny and boxed in behind barbed wire fences. Stay if you must, but avoid it if you can.

The rooms are a bit dated, though they were clean and tidy. Staff were warm and helpful, making an extra effort to keep the stay comfortable. I’d recommend stopping here for a day or two while travelling on to your next destination.

The pool area was lovely, clean, and had a nice spot for a BBQ. We also tried the buffet, which was okay for $45 a head. Our first room was a very small bedsitter, so we went back to reception. He was great about changing it straight away, and we even had a laugh. The room we ended up with was clean and comfortable, though the bathroom was small and had a shower curtain. We’d stay again.

I lead a tour group, and the Hall's Creek Motel consistently gives us top-notch service in a place where you might not expect many options. The rooms are somewhat dated but clean, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the food is second to none. I always enjoy staying here.

We didn’t stay overnight, but we rented a 4WD ute and were allowed to leave our ute and caravan out back while exploring Purnurlulu NP and The Bungle Bungles. Both were unbelievably amazing. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to help us. When we returned the car, they let us use the pool, which was cool, clean, and refreshing. We’d heard good things about the restaurant but unfortunately didn’t get to eat there. The manager was wonderful and has big plans for the place. He even gave us his number and said to call if we needed anything while away for a few days. Great service, highly recommend coming here, and we wish them well.
