The owner made us feel genuinely welcome and handed over well-prepared guides at check-in, with nearby trails, viewpoints and restaurants, plus distances and travel times. The renovated rooms were spotless and peaceful. In the evenings, when weather and fire conditions allow, they light a fire, which makes for a really cozy atmosphere. We sat outside at sunset watching kangaroos and local birds with those stunning views. On a clear night, the stars are beautiful too. It felt like such a special Australian experience. What a hidden gem at Halls Gap Motel, highly recommend.

Ian and Jo are lovely, accommodating hosts. The place has everything you need to enjoy halls gap and get rested and clean again before your next hike. It has a lovely charm, and chatting around the campfire turned into an unexpected highlight of our time away. Highly recommended, and thanks!

The room was clean and had everything we needed for our four-night stay. Ian, the owner, gave us excellent tips for enjoying the area, and having the BBQ and fire pit lit each night was a lovely bonus. The motel is in a great spot in town, within walking distance of the Main Street. Thanks for a great stay!

The hosts were lovely and helpful, and the fire pit out back was a real pleasure. The motel has been tastefully renovated, is spotlessly clean and generously appointed. It's in a perfect location, just a short walk into town. Such a gem.

We saw so much wildlife from the backyard, including kangaroos, deers, emus, cockatoos, kookaburras and colorful parrots. The mountain and lake views were unforgettable too. Our room at Halls Gap Motel had been newly renovated and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Thanks to the hosts for the warm welcome and recommendations. This became one of the warmest, most atmospheric memories of our trip to Australia.
