Harrington River Lodge

We ate at the tavern, which was lovely, and never heard any noise from it even though our room was right next door. The room was beautiful and clean, right by the water. There wasn't a kitchen, just a kettle, two cups and two spoons, with no sink for washing up and no plates or utensils. Still, we had a fantastic few days and will definitely be back.

The room was lovely and spacious, with the spa we paid extra for, but there was no hot water at all. Reception was empty, and the after-hours mobile number went to the message bank of someone in Ballina. Nobody called to tell us there was a problem or offered any explanation. Reception was still unattended the next morning. When we finally reached them after it opened, we were told, “Well, that happens sometimes!” It doesn't. I've stayed in hotels for years and never had no hot water, then had staff leave the area so they wouldn't have to answer questions. That's not good enough. Paying guests should get hot water, or at least an explanation or some kind of refund.

I'm leaving this review for friends who stayed here. They enjoyed the room and its view across the river, and said the lodge restaurant was good and the staff friendly. The location is nice, with a golf course nearby.

A lovely quiet place to unwind, with a great view from the room. We especially liked the spa bath and comfortable bed, and appreciated having food close by at both the tavern and the Golf Club next door. We loved the room and amenities. Worth a visit.
