Shoreline Nine Penthouse With Ocean Views

We’ve stayed here a few times and have made so many incredible memories. Thanks, Shoreline, we’ll definitely be back. You can walk straight to the beach without crossing a road, and there’s a huge garage with a servo across the road that has a fantastic range of almost anything you might need. The view is magic, and the area is warm and beautiful. The apartment is large, with three bedrooms that are each designed differently. The master ensuite is incredible.

The standout is the outlook from the small, well-positioned balcony. You can see across Hastings Point Beach, down to the inlet and up towards the Cabarita lookout. The location is a lovely place to switch off, with quiet beaches and a shallow tidal river inlet nearby for floating and getting in the water. There’s a BP service station and a cafe across the road; the cafe serves excellent food but closes early. For anything else, you’ll need to drive to Cabarita. Shoreline 9 Penthouse is an older building that looks as if it’s had a coat of paint, and it gets dirty quickly from people using the beach tracks. It’s spread over three levels with stairs only. Unit 9 is at the top, up about 50 steps, so it’s not a good fit for anyone with mobility issues. The apartment is called a penthouse, but it’s really a standard, self-contained, single-level unit on the top floor, similar in size and layout to the ones below. The layout inside is odd. The main bedroom takes up almost half the apartment and has the best views, though it’s mostly used for sleeping. Its ensuite is enormous, nearly half the bedroom’s size, while the main shower, laundry, and only other toilet are squeezed into one small room. Some renovations have been done, but corners seem to have been cut. There are sharp tiled edges in the shower and toilet area that could be unsafe. There’s no air conditioning or ceiling fans in the main living areas. The bedrooms do have fans, but the rest of the apartment gets quite hot, especially if you’re not used to coastal humidity. The kitchen has all the cooking gear needed to make meals, which was a plus. The double garage is quite restricted: the low clearance means roof gear has to come off before you park, and storage items leave room for only one car. We also saw quite a few spiders and webs around the property. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and beautiful views, but the stairs, heat, and maintenance issues matter. It makes more sense at a reasonable price, and not if you’re expecting a luxury penthouse experience.
