Mantra French Quarter Noosa

The pool was just the right temperature, and being so close to Noosa main beach and Little Cove was fantastic. We stayed for a week at the Mantra French Quarter, which I think has the best facilities and location on Hastings street for families. Staff were very helpful, bringing extra towels and cleaning products, sharing information, and arranging a maxi to the airport. We’ll be back next year.

We gave it two stars for the location. The rest of the stay was a one-star experience, and I regret booking. We won’t return; it didn’t feel worth the money. My husband had just been diagnosed with cancer, so I booked three nights with the family over Christmas, hoping for a much-needed break. It was expensive, but we’d stayed before and expected a similar experience. Instead, we couldn’t wait to get home. I’d hoped for a pool-facing room like last time, but ours backed onto the street, looked out at a wall and some trees, and had constant traffic noise. The balcony was unbearably hot, and its broken fan made it unusable. We spent the whole stay in a small apartment with our two-year-old grandson and no fresh air. Reception staff seemed uninterested and were unhelpful and disorganised. When I reported the fan, I was told maintenance would fix it. The worker only arrived on checkout morning as we were carrying our bags out. It was clear nobody had taken the problem seriously or cared.

The pool was lovely, with plenty of room to relax, and some quiet music would have been a nice little extra. The location is hard to beat: you’re steps from Hastings Street and the beach. We found the room immaculate, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a roomy bathroom with laundry, a relaxing balcony, cosy lounge suite, and handy kitchenette. Reception made a great first impression too, warm, welcoming, and professional. We loved our stay at Mantra French Quarter in Noosa and can’t wait to come back.

We were told only a few days before our stay, after we’d paid, that general construction might happen. Then there was jackhammering straight into our apartment wall during the day. We had to move rooms, and later someone started painting the balcony again while looking into our apartment, without warning. Work like this shouldn’t seriously disrupt a stay. At the very least, guests need a CLEAR warning in advance and a discount. Don’t stay here.
