My son, Ofri, was thousands of miles from family while celebrating his 25th birthday. After a short WhatsApp exchange with Ian, Ian and the community arranged a birthday party that made him feel at home with loved ones. The photos touched us, and we were speechless to learn that a friend of Ian’s had covered the costs themselves. I want to thank Ian and everyone at Noosa Forest Retreat for this extraordinary kindness. It’s rare to meet people so caring and selfless. This is clearly a special place grounded in human connection. We’ll always be grateful, and I know our son will never forget his time with you.

The PDC donation felt generous and was absolutely worth it. During Spring of 2025, everyone involved in the course showed real connection, ethical practice, deep knowledge, and passion, all in service of a better life for all beings. I gained priceless knowledge, passion, and lasting connections through the course. Seeing all the preparation and support that went into it, alongside the valuable teachings, made me appreciate the asking donation even more. The course brought together Permaculture, Ayurveda, Deep Ecology, Syntropic Ag, Mycology, Connection, Flow, and more, delivered with love and care. Words don’t cover it. I recommend NFR to anyone wanting to understand permaculture better and contribute to a flourishing life through more conscious practices.

The PDC at Noosa Forest Retreat changed my life. I’m passionate about self-development, but I didn’t expect the course to go so deep. I felt I’d finally found ‘my-people’, and my mind was blown over and over on the very first day. I want everyone to learn how to live more sustainably with confidence and build useful skills that can create new streams of revenue.

I first heard about the permaculture design course at Noosa Forest Retreat on a podcast, and felt called to try it even though there are plenty of courses near my home in Melbourne. I’m so glad I went. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done, and so much more than ‘gardening’. It feels like an education about life that could benefit anyone, whatever their situation. I see the world differently now. The community is beautiful, and so many little moments of magic were woven through the course. I left with a heart full of gratitude and a mind full of possibilities. I’m grateful to Deb and Ian and all the residents for continually caring for and nurturing this property, letting the essence of Permaculture principles keep unfolding. I’ll definitely be back. This place is home to many creatures and welcomes everyone, whether or not they know about permaculture. It’s somewhere to learn, stay, heal, or simply be. Once you get familiar with the residents’ natural rhythms and how the community works, it’s easy to fall in love. The natural surroundings can be seen, heard, cherished, and deeply felt when you find harmony with their flow. NFR offers those opportunities to everyone who tends and cares for her.
