The water is the real draw here. It's breathtaking, and we'd come back just for that. The corner store right outside the park is fantastic and handy. The park itself is a bit disappointing, though. It's quite old and needs updating. Most powered sites are packed close together, so you feel on top of your neighbours. Next time we'd probably pick an unpowered site, which is bigger and in a nicer part of the park, even without power and water. Fishing is limited unless you've got a boat that can get out through the heads.

We had an amazing weekend. The beach is right there, and the inlet is lovely for lounging on a float or paddleboard. We also saw lots of fun sea life while snorkelling. The bathrooms and camp kitchen stayed clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We did have a bit of trouble with the boom gate, but only on our last day. Thanks for a great weekend!

What used to be a beautiful place is starting to look like a bad hangover. Our assigned site was still occupied at 2pm by guests who had overstayed, with their tent and gear left there. Management contacted them and said they were away from the site and a few hours off. They couldn't really do anything, but offered us another spot that was hot and crowded. We asked for a refund and went to a more welcoming, less crowded campsite elsewhere. This isn't the first time it's happened here. Management needs to do a daily check of the park for overstayers, whatever time of year it is.

The river and beach were pleasant, and the club and general store were within walking distance. We camped with friends over Australia Day weekend, when all 345 sites were occupied. At check-in we were told that the nearby amenities block was waiting for an upgrade. That was putting it mildly. Cleaning was below average, and once-a-day cleaning with so many people was nowhere near enough. The laundry had four washing machines, but three were marked out of order and only one worked. That was disgraceful, especially since most holidaymakers pay before arriving. Our sites alone would have covered the cost of at least one machine.

The non-powered site was great, and I'm glad I didn't need power because the powered area looked packed. That's just my opinion, and it might be fine for campers and caravanners who are used to parks. The amenities are older, but they're fine, clean, and have nice hot water. The whole beach is beautiful and very family- and dog-friendly. Just keep dogs on a lead, or it could end up like other places where dogs aren't allowed.
