The staff are friendly, and there are some good places to eat within walking distance. The room was clean too.

The bed and pillows were really comfortable, and it was very quiet, but the rest of my stay was awful. There was no hot water when I came back from work last night, and the aircon was barely working. Ants were in the kettle, there was no rubbish bin, the carpet was filthy and the settee was worn and grubby. The blackout curtains had holes all across them, and the window wouldn't open. I told the manager, but nothing was done. The owner or manager sat smoking just outside my room, so it stank of smoke. Coming back late from work, I was attacked by a dog on the verandah while a group of people were drinking and smoking there.

We enjoyed some lovely breakfasts here and would happily stay again. Reception was good and very obliging. We were there for five days, and the room was exceptionally clean, with fresh towels and supplies each day. The beds were comfortable, and the shower had plenty of hot water.

The reverse cycle air conditioner was much appreciated on the cool Oakey winter nights. The rooms were spacious, nice and clean.

It's an easy walk to the town centre, and the town swimming pool is directly across the road if you fancy a cooling dip. The rooms are probably basic, but they're roomy and adequate for an extended stay.
