It was convenient and great value, and I still think it's a great place to stay. We have no complaints about the motel itself. But after a mishap with two boiled eggs exploding in the microwave, we were refused when I tried to book again. We cleaned up as best we could, though I admit more detailed cleaning was needed. It wasn't due to irresponsible behaviour, drunkenness or loutish carry-on. If there was a problem, they had our details and I would have happily covered any extra expense. We ended up going to one in Toowoomba that we use frequently.

The rooms are spotless, and all the fixtures and fittings are in great shape. They have everything you might need, from a kettle, toaster, microwave and dishes to a hairdryer. The aircon worked a treat when it got cold. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and very gracious when I locked myself out. There's a takeaway and supermarket within walking distance, with a tavern, RSL, more supermarkets, other takeaways and a bottlo a quick drive away. My only comment is that there aren't enough power points, and they're all at one end of the room. That's just how things were built back then, not the management's fault. Great little place, I'd stay again.

I stayed on the night of 10th July 2025, and the owners were pleasant and very accommodating. They gave me lots of information about food venues and things to do in Oakey. The room was clean, well maintained and nice, with a comfortable bed, plenty of tea and coffee, and Foxtel. The bathroom was fresh and clean, with soap and shampoo. It was a pleasure to stay at the Oakey motel, just across the road from the Barn. I highly recommend it.

Collette and Glenn made our stay at Oakey Motel memorable. From Collete's warm greeting to accommodating a large Van and responding to any needs, their attention and genuine hospitality made us feel like VIPs. They go above and beyond for guests, and their dedication to making people feel welcome is commendable. Highly recommended, we'll be back!

There's great parking, and the rooms are very clean and right for a stay. The owners are brilliant, really helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.
