There's not much in the way of local shops, so bring what you need and settle in. This resort sits on a beautiful beach, and the in-house room service meals are very nice. Jenny and Len, the managers, are extremely helpful and welcoming. A hidden gem.

The beach is lovely and quiet, the rooms are nice, and the beds are comfy. Staff were kind and helpful, even giving us a tour. It doesn't seem like the bad reviews anymore, though they may have been from a while back. We did find a lot of ants in the kitchen. Apart from that, it's a nice, quiet little getaway, and the smart TV lets you watch YouTube, Stan and Netflix.

There was little to do in the area, and I'd tell people to stay in Mackay instead. The whole visit left us on edge, wondering if the owners might enter with their keys while we were out. There's no safe, so I would lock valuables in the car. There were also no smoke alarms, which felt like a death trap. The mice scratched above the bed all night. The manager blamed a tree, but there were no trees on the roof above the bed in our double-storey unit. I've heard mice before, and this was definitely a rodent. A bathroom tap kept dripping and it was infuriating. They didn't want our kids there, which showed in the dump of a playground. A lack of a decent play area may deter kids from making noise. The male owner was extremely grumpy, yelled at people straight away and tried to intimidate us. Sitting on the balcony with a drink in the evening annoyed them too. They sent their little dogs out to investigate, then came over to listen to what was going on. It felt very intrusive. They demanded that we leave the property while they cleaned. We didn't need a midweek clean, but they barged in and made us go out or stay outside. Don't leave alcohol around, it will disappear. Just a terrible experience from soon after we arrived until we left. I would never recommend the place, and if I could give it negative 10, I would.

We stopped in for lunch without staying there. The staff were very friendly and knew the area well. The meals were fresh, tasty and huge.

It's a really nice beach with easy access, and the place is clean, tidy and safe. But it's too far from everything, with no shops or conveniences nearby. Internet is no good, and if you're not with Telstra, phone and internet service can be patchy.
