Bidgee Motor Inn

The reception team made a late arrival easy. I called because I was running behind, and a cheerful woman arranged to leave my key somewhere safe for me. My single room was clean, the bathroom was good, and the shower had great pressure. For this price range, it’s one of the best motels I’ve stayed at. I’d come back.

We were driving from Brissie to Adelaide and stopped for one night. The woman at the front desk was welcoming, and we had no complaints. Our room, number 14, was quiet despite the trucks. The main street is 50 kph, with no corner, intersection, or traffic lights nearby, so there weren’t gear changes or Jake brakes to keep us up. The place seems older, but it has had some worthwhile updates: a cute mint green fridge that was much bigger than the usual tiny motel bar fridge, decent lighting, and a comfortable king bed with no sag. I’d recommend it.

We could walk to the pub for dinner from this spot right in town. The receptionist was delightful, and our room had comfortable beds and good air conditioning. It was just right.

I made a mistake and booked the room for the wrong day. When I called, the woman said there were no rooms available on the day I wanted and advised me to cancel and request a refund. After cancelling through Agoda, I was told the booking couldn’t be refunded. I disputed that because the property had advised me to ask, but Agoda rejected it, saying the property wouldn’t issue a refund. I feel like they took my money, and the way this was handled felt dishonest.
