Hepburn Springs Chalet

For the price, you get a clean room to sleep in, and I found the Hepburn Springs Chalet comfortable for rustic accommodation. The service was lovely, and the in-house massage therapists were very good. Noise was the main letdown. We could hear everything from the neighbouring rooms, including toilets and beds creaking loudly. My wife and I had to listen to our neighbour vomiting all night. I’d stay again, but my wife wouldn’t.

There was plenty of parking out back, and the pantry or lounge was spacious and well kept. The pool table and board games in the bar were a bit old, but they added to the charm. I didn’t get to try the drinks or order food. The rooms matched the promotional description, with vintage furnishings and a retro lounge and laid-back restaurant. It was a very hot day, and the host responded to guests’ needs by turning on the central cooling.

The Hepburn Springs Chalet is simple and comfortable, which suited me. It’s relaxed, with retro decor and furnishings. Tea and coffee are available communally, and breakfast is basic but perfectly enough: cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurt, and tea or coffee. There’s a small wall-mounted TV in the room. It was clean, warm, and welcoming. The linen was top quality, the bed was super comfy, the room was heated, and the shower was great. If you want all the bells and whistles, this probably isn’t the place for you, but I really liked it.

My sister and I spent two nights there and both enjoyed it. It was quiet and warm, the beds were comfy, and breakfast had plenty of choices. The whole stay was enjoyable. If you like an old-school place with a relaxed feel, I’d recommend it. If you want full service and all the bells and whistles, go elsewhere. My sister and I would definitely stay again.
