The room was lovely, but not quite what I expected for $90 a night. I assumed it came with its own bathroom and toilet, which was the only reason I booked here. Instead I had to go up and down the stairs four times during the night after a long day. The shared bathroom downstairs was very clean and neat, with hot water, and the place was mostly quiet. You could hear the neighbours, though I was lucky mine were respectful. Check-in was smooth and well organised. I didn't use the kitchen or laundry, so can't comment on those. I still had a pretty good stay otherwise. In response to the owner's comment, I don't accept the claim that you can't find this price elsewhere in the city. Just last month in Adelaide, I stayed on Hindley Street, right in the heart of the city, for $105 a night. That room had a queen bed, ensuite bathroom, aircon, kitchen and cooking facilities. So don't throw random facts at me. Your motel is expensive. I had a decent stay even without an ensuite, but it's lovely that you think I can't find better value.

I checked in late, and they gave me clear directions. The place was very quiet and the wifi worked great. They also helped me book a trip to kgari or fraser island, and were extremely helpful with planning the day and sorting out the logistics for this part of my trip.

We booked the Woolshed Eco Lodge more than three months ahead, but when we arrived today we found out they had cancelled it two days earlier because the booking and card names didn't match. The booking was in my name and the card belonged to my partner. Our $50 deposit wasn't refunded because Woolshed says it never received it, although our bank statements show it was paid. The person at the front desk was unhelpful and condescending.

The hostel's eco-friendly focus really appealed to me, and I think other places should follow its example. The beds felt private and comfortable, and I also liked the kitchen and common area. It's a very cosy hostel. It's quite a distance from the Greyhound bus stop, though, so if you're travelling by coach I'd check the timetable beforehand.

The hostel is quiet and cosy, with two bus stops right out front. Coles is a decent walk away. The walls are really thin, so bring earplugs, or pick up the free ones at the front desk. Booking through the receptionist gets you a 10% discount, and the two-person rooms cost $100 a night, which felt well worth it. One small suggestion: there weren't many card or board games. Adding some would be a cheap way to make the place more social and build a sense of community.
