Narrara Backpackers

The hostel stayed calm and cozy through a proper Hobart storm. It was spotless, and all the facilities worked, which feels rare for a backpackers. Everything seemed well cared for, including the people staying there. Totally worth the money. But the real highlight was Mo, the kindest human being I’ve ever met. He radiates warmth. I was half expecting him to turn on an electric blanket, bring me a hot water bottle, and tuck me in. That’s how safe and cared for I felt, even more than at home during the storm. If kindness were a business model, this place would be fully booked forever. I’d stay again in a heartbeat, mostly to see if Mo’s still making grown adults feel so inexplicably safe in stormy weather.

I only booked at first because the hostel was cheap, but after a few days I felt so comfortable that I stayed for over four months. Everything was very clean, the kitchen had all I needed, and every room had a heater. People often ate together in the common living area, so it was easy to make friends. More than anything, Mo’s kind and thoughtful nature made this place special. He always made people smile and feel better. I’m really happy and grateful I had the chance to stay here.

For a budget hostel, this was the best one I’ve stayed in. I spent two nights here, and it fully met my expectations. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well organized for the price, and the atmosphere and value pleasantly surprised me. The receptionist was friendly, professional, and always willing to help, which made the stay even better. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a good budget option and would happily return.
