High View Family Cottages

We loved waking up to horses and cows around us, which was a special experience for our international group. The cottage fit six of us comfortably, and the location was convenient, about ten minutes from the city centre. It's definitely basic, but the hosts were clear about that when we booked. Management were friendly and easygoing. A good option for families watching their budget.

The views are stunning, and at night it's so quiet you can't hear a thing. The cottage has all the basics we needed, including air con, cooking facilities, a TV and heated blankets for winter. The dog had a fenced space with a veranda, grass and a cute little dog house. Fantastic place to stay.

It was a strange experience. The view looked nice if you stayed in one of the more expensive cottages, and it was nice seeing the horses, but there was a tonne of junk scattered around the farm. I really didn't like their big dog being off leash, hanging around us and getting in our kids' faces. It felt quite unsettling.

Sara did everything she could to make our stay a good one. You can see how much hard work and dedication the family put into sharing their haven. My family and I stayed here for New Year's a couple of weeks ago, and it exceeded every expectation. It's incredibly peaceful, with stunning views, a cosy cabin and lovely grounds. We had what we needed to feel at home for a few nights, and the place is suited to families on holiday or couples looking for a romantic night away. Everything you might ask for is within ten minutes, yet once you're there it feels a million miles from anything. Pure serenity. We'll definitely be back. Don't miss the sunset.
