We came as a family of five during a quiet spell and stayed just under three months. At first it seemed like a nice place, and the permanents were welcoming and willing to help. After we'd been there about a month, the facade started to slip. The park felt absolutely unhinged, and at meetings the permanents, ourselves included, realised we'd possibly settled into the worst caravan park in great QLD. On our fifth day we were made to attend a compulsory meeting about the disgusting state of the amenity block. I nearly stepped in people's waste left behind doors, on hand rails and on toilet paper dispensers more times than I can count. Complaints and gossip spread quickly, people got defensive and suspicious of each other, and we ended up caught in the middle. After sitting down for a beer with Steve (the owner) and another permanent, I learned that Steve actively shares bits of gossip to stir things up. We were a vulnerable family hoping to finally get a lease, the only thing standing between us and leaving the last 3.5 years of living rough behind. Otherwise, I'd have packed up straight away. Instead, after Steve told us we needed to be put on a lease, he woke my family and me the next morning to say we were being kicked out. While I was taking our belongings to a storage shed in Townsville, he harassed my wife and children. He threatened to call police if our family of five, our dog and bird weren't packed up by 3pm, even though we were paid up for another 4 days. He wouldn't refund me unless it was on his terms. This place isn't family friendly. Expect to be actively discriminated against by nosey permanents. Honestly, don't come unless you absolutely have to. The park is run by an unhinged ex prison guard who acts like he never left, and seems to think he's god and suited to a position he isn't cut out for.

The people were friendly and we had a nice time using the pool. Our unpowered site was well kept, and the toilets and showers were very clean. We stayed for two days and would happily return.

We came to town for the concert and stayed at Ingham tourist park. Check-in was easy and the staff were really friendly. The weather meant there weren't any unpowered sites available, but that didn't affect my stay. The amenities were nice and the camp kitchen was handy for guests. I'd recommend it and will be back.

A quiet, lovely park, with an easy entrance straight off the highway. The highway can be heard, but that's part of the location and definitely wouldn't put me off. Caravan sites seem to be drive-through, handy for vans, and the grassy camp spots are spacious and shady. Amenities were roomy, well lit and very clean. They even sell dog and cat items in the office, which is great. I'd recommend it and come back.
