We had a large waterfront room in autumn and seemed to get lucky with it. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the shower pressure was wonderfully strong. There were plenty of power points, and having a washer and dryer was a bonus. The place is dated, but everything worked as it should, and the staff really stood out. Bike paths start right at the door, and the included hot breakfast was good.
The view from our room was unbeatable, and it was so quiet and thoughtfully equipped. Check-in staff were kind, breakfast was delicious, and the pool was amazing after a morning hike. We arrived in an electric car and the hotel had arranged a dedicated charger for us. Thanks for everything, Horizons team!
The staff were friendly and courteous, and our rate included a very good buffet breakfast at a reasonable price. I liked the private balcony overlooking the lake. Our room was spacious and clean, though some of the fittings, especially the taps and plumbing, looked worn. At the time of my review it was part of the Rydges chain, and the amenities were a step above those in other places I’ve stayed.
The staff were pleasant, the location was great and the balcony had nice views. Our large room had a kitchen, balcony and good undercover parking, making it decent value. The rooms are dated, though, with strong musty and detergent smells. The door wouldn’t lock from inside or lock itself when shut. Buffet breakfast was included. The seasonal fruit was nice, but the hot food was below par, which surprised me since it was cooked to order rather than left out with the prepared items.
We’ve been coming every year on our motorbike trip, and stayed two nights this time. I remember it from its Rydges days too. The rooms are showing some age and wear, but that seems normal compared with other places I’ve stayed. The front of house and bar staff were both great. I expect we’ll be back next year.
