Johanna River Farm & Cottages

Our elopement at Johanna River Farm & Cottages couldn't have felt more magical. Sheep grazed outside our cottage, and we spotted koalas around the farm. One even joined us from a tree as a witness during the ceremony! We had fun feeding the alpacas and ponies, and were lucky to be there during lambing season. One evening we saw glow worms in the fern gully. Jagger and Zac, the sweetest dogs, made us smile playing fetch. The cottage was spotless, had everything we needed, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We loved the fireplace keeping us warm and cosy at night. Helen and Julian are such kind, genuine people who went out of their way to make our stay feel like home. With the breathtaking sunset views and beautiful surroundings, our stay was a dream come true. We left with full hearts and can't wait to return.

The countryside cottages were cosy and well maintained, with farm animals and stars for neighbours. Julian and Helen were thoughtful, generous hosts, and had the fireplace going just before we arrived. Our kids will really miss playing with Zac and Jagger.

Helen gave us such a warm welcome and an informative tour of the property. We've been lucky enough to see five koalas, including one that came to visit us on the deck! I'm here with my 10-year-old daughter, and she's having a wonderful time. She's even made friends with the dogs, though I think she's worn them out. Waking to birds and kookaburras and taking in the beautiful views has made this staycation so peaceful. We're here now and honestly can't fault it. Five stars plus, and we'll definitely be back!

Our toddler had a ball and still talks about the ponies, donkey, and Alibaba the alpaca. They even want to eat like it 🤣. The cottage was lovely and self-contained, and Helen kindly showed us around the farm and suggested nice places to see nearby. We had a great time, thanks for a wonderful stay. Definitely recommended, and we'll be back soon.
