The bathroom was good, with a lovely shower and quality toiletries, and the air conditioning was welcome because it got quite warm at night. Check-in was quick and friendly, and the room had a fridge, microwave and modern TV with Netflix and other services. It was okay for a room with a queen and a single bed, though not as roomy as the suites. There were a few things that bothered us. The carpet looked worn and had some stains, and the soft bed made every movement noticeable. The bed sat right below a window with an outside light that stayed on, so it was quite bright at night. Noise carried easily too, and we found a few dead insects behind and under the bed.

The staff and the wider team were welcoming, and all up we had a great stay and would happily return. A few small things: there were no pegs for the washing line, and Kalbarri is so windy they may all have blown away. I don't remember seeing salt with the tea, coffee and sugar, though it wasn't a problem. The dinner menu looked a bit fussy and didn't have much veg. Also, there's no oven in the apartment. Watch your head around the microwave, which sticks out over the sink.

The connecting door between rooms is paper-thin, so we could hear the neighbors breathing, talking and moving around. There was no privacy or chance of a good night's sleep. Charging $200 AUD for a room this miserable and unlivable feels like a blatant scam. If you value your sanity, sleep or intimacy with your partner, stay somewhere else. Sleeping in your car would give you more privacy.

We stayed for two nights. The room was very clean and had a handy little kitchen nook. Check-in was easy, and the woman at reception was lovely and welcoming. We ate at the on-site restaurant once; the food was good, reasonably priced and had a nice range of choices for different people. We were out during the day and didn't use the pool or laundry, but the pool looked inviting. It's right in the middle of the apartments, which would be great if you have kids.

The room was absolutely spotless, and the bed was fantastic, with clean, crisp linen. We got in early without any fuss. There’s a nice outdoor space with our own BBQ, plus a kitchen, washer and dryer. The price was great too. I'd recommend staying here 🙂
