The gardens Wayne has made feel almost magical, with little themed areas and birds all around. We came with a packed schedule, but ended up spending much of our time at the house just unwinding. It's such a beautiful spot, and worth making the effort to get away from the holiday crowds. It's a genuinely eco-friendly place, with solar power and rainwater rather than mains connections. That means taking away excess rubbish and being mindful about water. Kids are lovely, but if they're running around shouting, the wildlife gets disturbed. Reading some of the bad reviews, I wonder if those guests missed what staying somewhere sustainable involves. Wayne, thank you. I felt my heart rate drop by 10 beats per minute in your little paradise. We appreciated being thoughtful about waste and taking fewer showers. You should be proud of what you've created. We'll be sorry to leave, and some people just won't get it.

The grounds are stunning, with so much flora and fauna to see. The owner took us on a great tour of the farm, and we came away having learned a lot. He was friendly and accommodating, and inspired us to try living more sustainably. We had such a wonderful time at the Grange on Kalgan that we're already keen to book another holiday. A lovely place to get out of city life and be still in nature.
Those quiet mornings on the verandah, listening to birds and watching the sunset, were a highlight. The property is beautiful and well kept, and Wayne clearly takes pride in both the house and the grounds. Inside, it felt clean, cosy and homely. We stayed in winter and were warm through the night with the bedroom heater. The king-sized bed was extremely comfortable too. Wayne noticed the TV wasn't working when we arrived and arranged for someone to fix it, so we could watch it if we wanted. He was a wonderful, very accommodating host. Thanks for having us!
Dreadful stay. The owner lives there and keeps an eye on you, and the whole thing felt like being put up at a distant relative's place against their will. He was hypercritical and shouty if my elderly Mum or I did anything outside his “rules”. Not exactly relaxing when you're paying a fortune. You've been warned :-)
Don't bother staying here unless you're prepared to get abuse by text after your visit. I left an honest review on booking.com. It wasn't a bad review, just an honest one. The next day, the owner used information from the Covid check-in register to get my partner's details, even though she wasn't on the booking. He then sent us two rude, unprofessional and nasty messages, abusing us over the review. Unless you give them 5 stars, expect a pile of abuse. DONT STAY HERE
