Barrass's John Bright Motor Inn

That pool incident really frightened us. There were no signs showing the depth or warning about the pressure points. While swimming, one of my friends hit a pressure cap in the middle, lost control, and nearly drowned. A friend's child was bitten by a spider too, and his left palm swelled up. He's only a little over two, so he now needs to see a doctor. I first stayed at John Bright Motor Inn with friends in 2019, then booked again for January 2026. We paid over $650 for three nights and four days, and the room and service weren't worth that price. There were cobwebs, dust in the carpet, and the balcony looked like it hadn't been cleaned in decades. The only reason I'd give it a star is the location. I hope management looks into the upkeep and safety, especially given where the accommodation is. We were on Level 1, but there was only a shared microwave on level 0. Having to go down there in the middle of the night to heat something was a pain. Bring a hot water bottle, food that doesn't need refrigerating, or plan to eat out. I wouldn't book here with children.
