The Plaza Hotel Kalgoorlie

I stayed for work, and the rooms were great. Dinner was excellent the first night, with nice sides, but later they switched the sides to chips and iceberg lettuce. The pre-made lunches were cheap and nasty, mostly carbs, with just one piece of fruit and nothing else I'd call healthy. I asked to swap the lunch for a chicken salad and skip the other carb-heavy items, but they said no.

I booked a weekend at The Plaza Kalgoorlie for a friend as a way to do something nice for people who have been good to me. Instead, they charged my friend, who was meant to be treated, despite having my card details. They had the booking card and could have charged it, but didn't. It wrecked the weekend for everyone involved. The service was very poor, and I won't book at the Plaza again or use its booking system. There still hasn't been an apology or any effort to fix things, either for me or the people who stayed there. The public relations and service have been very poor. Don't stay here, there are better options in Kalgoorlie.

The shower drained so slowly that the water reached my ankles and nearly overflowed, with someone else's hair floating in it. I reported it to the front desk in the morning and was told someone would fix it. When I came back that afternoon, nothing had changed and the same hair was still on the shower floor. I can put up with technical problems, but I detest liars. The service was zero, and I definitely wouldn't stay here again. The place was just okay otherwise.

The room was hot and I couldn't sleep, so I'm writing this at 1:23 am. The air-conditioning barely cooled it. There were also visible dirty patches on the sofa and stains on the pillowcases, which was completely unacceptable. By far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. A disappointing, uncomfortable nightmare of an experience, and I won't stay here again.
