Econo Lodge Absolute Lake Entrance

The location and price were okay, but I won't return. We stayed four nights and five days and got no replacement tea bags. Reception was unattended most of the time, and the room phones weren't connected, just there for show. The commode was dirty, with hair on it, and the bedsheets had yellow-brown stains. That was a bad first impression. The beds were uncomfortable too, with wheels that had no stoppers, so they rolled forward when we sat up against the headboard. The TV wasn't a smart TV and couldn't connect to the internet. Maybe I'll spend a couple hundred extra for better accommodation.

The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, and the faded curtains were practically see-through. The TV was good, but the room was outdated apart from the shower. It also wasn't clean: there was hair all over the shower floor, and when we moved the bed we found rubbish and things left by previous guests. It didn't look as if the room had been vacuumed or cleaned.

Room 21 had a beautiful view, and the workers were kind. It was clean, but the stay was still awful. One bedside light barely worked, we needed another adapter for our electronics, there was hardly any cutlery, and there wasn't even a table to eat at. The TV and air-con also stopped working at some point. After checking in, we weren't allowed a refund to move elsewhere. Apparently, if you don't like it, too bad. It really ruined my mood.

The location was fantastic, but arriving was a hassle. One of the twin rooms had no key, so we were moved to a separate room, which was inconvenient. The woman on the phone wasn't very helpful, and nobody was at reception when we arrived or left. The rooms were fine and had smart TVs, but no cooking facilities, and being so close to the road made them feel a little unsafe. Visitors' parking woke us up repeatedly at night, and a taco truck was honking at 5am, which wasn't nice.
