Discovery Parks - Kangaroo Island

We were lucky enough to see 5 Koalas and a Cape Barren Goose, and Margaret's local knowledge helped make that possible. As Park Manager, she made us feel welcome from the start and went out of her way to help. The park was spotless and beautifully kept. Margaret brings real warmth and enthusiasm to her work, along with professionalism, and made our stay at Discovery Kangaroo Island memorable. We'd highly recommend it.

We arrived before dusk and spotted kangaroos around the camp. By morning there were koalas in the eucalyptus trees, and the receptionist even explained which trees and cabin numbers to look near. She was lovely and helpful. Our two-bedroom cabin suited us perfectly, with separate queen-size beds, a bathroom, kitchenette, and living room. It was comfortable, nicely kept, and the camp itself was great. There is a small grocery store at reception, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during reception hours, plus a small gas station. Thank you very much.

The manager was so lovely, and the clean, tidy two-bedroom cabin was just what we needed near the national park. One thing to plan for: phone reception may not work here. We're with Optus and arrived after check-in had closed, so we couldn't call for the lock box code. We had to drive 30 minutes back to get signal, then return with the code. If you're arriving late, call ahead and get it beforehand.

There was an adorable koala right by our caravan site, and the bathrooms and kitchen were clean. Staff were really helpful too. We only stayed one night but loved it, and would definitely come back.
