Park Drive Motel

From outside it doesn’t look like much, but my room had clean linen, toilet, and sink, plus a comfortable bed. The bathroom was updated and freshly painted, and there was free Wi-Fi. I did miss having complimentary tea or coffee, haha. I’d still come back.

It was a quiet stay, even on a Saturday night, with no noise around. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the hot shower had good pressure and a soap dispenser. It’s near fuel and maccas, and quick enough to get back on the road toward brissy without losing 20 minutes like you do in Port Macquarie. The building is older, but they’re still investing in it: the appliances seemed quite new, and the bathroom has clean grout and modern tiles, so it’s obviously been redone. The room was clean and didn’t smell of smoke. It was a little musty, but opening the window and running the AC for 10 minutes fixed that. My only quibble is that the mattress was firmer than I like. I’ve paid more for worse, and it’s a good place to stop and break up a trip.

A quiet, dog-friendly spot for an affordable and comfortable night, with great customer service and a clean room. The pet-friendly room had a bit of a doggy smell, but that’s to be expected. I gave the carpet a quick spray with biological animal odor spray, and it smelled amazing in there :)

Horrible hotel. The room was dirty and I couldn’t lock the door. I went for a walk to find the river and relax, since it’s next to the hotel, but nearly got attacked by a homeless junkie and had to run back to my room. I didn’t feel much safer there. I wouldn’t suggest staying unless you want to be chased by junkies for no reason!
