We’d planned to take three weeks getting back to WA after six lovely weeks in Tasmania, with Kennett River as our first stop. Because of possible fuel supply problems, we made the responsible choice to head straight home and called to cancel our booking. We’d paid the full $292.50 for four nights four months ago, rather than just the one-night deposit, and asked for three nights’ money back. They refused to refund any of it. The Manager gave an absolute no. That’s especially disappointing from a G’day caravan park, since we’re members. It adds to the financial pressure of higher fuel costs on the trip home. Shame on you.

Rainbow lorikeets came by while we were having breakfast, and there were plenty of other birds, Roos and Koala's around too, all wild. The beach with good surf is about 90 ft across the road, and there's a handy area to rinse wetsuits. We had a last minute unpowered pitch and picked the morning shade by the road. It stayed very quiet, with no traffic from 6 til 6. Staff were friendly, and there’s an ice machine, a free clean camp kitchen and an electric bbq. It seems popular with older surfers relaxing there. I wished I could have joined them. Would stop every month if we could.

We can’t come back now, which is a real shame. They’ve brought back the no dog policy, so we’ll have to stay somewhere else. It’s a great little park in an awesome location, and there seem to be a lot of empty sites at the moment. Maybe we’re not the only ones disadvantaged.

The kids enjoyed their stay. The location is perfect, and the camp spots are well maintained. The bathrooms and toilets could be kept cleaner.

The park was well presented and good value, and the staff were really friendly. We especially liked seeing families of wood ducks wandering over the grassy areas, along with all the other bird life. It’s a great location and a lovely place for families. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back in future.
