Parnella Kettering

We really enjoyed staying here. A special thank you to Jonathan for staying up late to make sure we could check in smoothly.

A beautifully furnished cottage with two bedrooms, lovely linens, games, and everything we needed for a private romantic break. It’s on a wildlife friendly property, and there’s a log fire for winter. The bathroom has a nice spa, just fill it enough before switching it on. We cleaned the bathroom thoroughly, which turned into a pretty funny moment 😂. The hosts were great and left us to ourselves. Accessibility gets 8/10: the shower is over the spa and there’s no grab rail or non slip mat. There are two separate properties on site to choose from. There are good local options too, and Kettering is nearby with the ferry to Bruny Island for a day trip.

The only real drawback for us was the lack of a veranda, since the steady rain made it impossible to sit outside. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable, a lovely self contained spot among the bushland. The owners welcomed us and made sure we had what we needed, including a well put together guide to the surrounding area. Beautiful location.

The little wallabies and pademelons came right up to the cabin, which was adorable. I was there for the pony and also enjoyed the native gardens and wildlife. The small apartments were clean and comfortable, and the ferry is close by, making it a handy place to stay before heading to Bruny Island. We loved our stay!
