Peppermill Inn

The prices are good, probably because the rooms are a bit tired. They were clean and had great facilities, but not much seems to have changed in 25 years.

The steak and vegetables arrived with mostly potato, even though I'd asked for no potato, and the steak was overcooked and tough. It was a dreadful meal. At the sports bar, the young guy serving seemed completely uninterested. I ordered a pint of soda water, and when he asked lemon or lime, I chose lemon. He said he'd have to use lime because there was no lemon. Not a huge deal, but this was prime dinner service, so you'd think they could cut some or prepare the station better. Then he charged $9.80 for a pint of soda water. When I checked the price, he rudely said, "hey mate I just work here i don't make up the prices". I stay here often for work. This was a new low in customer service, and if it's the same tomorrow night, I'll have to find somewhere else to stay in future.

I needed to make an urgent trip to Shepp on Good Friday, and the friendly, helpful staff found me a room at short notice, even though it was late in the evening. The room was nice and clean, and the service was excellent.

Our room had been renovated tastefully, though I believe the upper-floor rooms still need work. It would also be nice to have some seating outside the rooms. We had a lovely, relaxing weekend at Peppermill Inn. We ate at the Bistro each night, and some of our group used the pokies. Quite a few people said they'd be very happy to come back.
