The receptionist and house staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean, and the pool was clean too, with chairs beside it. If you have more than two guests, book an extra-large room, since a standard one is too small for three. It'd also help to have cutlery and crockery in the rooms for the toaster and microwave provided.

The rooms are simple and very clean, with plenty of parking. The WiFi is truly terrible. Since it's a small business, I had to return to reception three times before I could check in, but once I found a staff member, they were lovely.

The restaurant food was great, though service was slow. One receptionist was really friendly and the other wasn't. We were meant to have luxury accommodation, but ended up in the smallest room, which felt cramped and poorly equipped. I asked for an extra bedside lamp and was told we weren't entitled to one.

The new layout has made Burke & Wills Restaurant a modern, comfortable place to dine. The meal was enjoyable, with delicious, well-prepared food presented beautifully, and friendly, attentive service that never felt over the top. It's a great refresh. I'd happily come back and recommend it.

Our car broke down late on Sunday afternoon, leaving us in Kingaroy. We thought we'd stay at Burke and Wills for one night, but it turned into two while we waited to find out if the car could be fixed. The ladies at reception were incredibly helpful and patient through all the uncertainty. I'm so grateful to them. Burke and Wills made a stressful situation easier, and I highly recommend staying there if you're passing through or planning a night or two.
